Realising the importance of innovation in Malaysia’s push towards becoming an advanced, high-income nation by 2020, the government passed the AIM Act 2010 which created a statutory body, Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) to spearhead the National Innovation Strategy (Innovating Malaysia). AIM is administered by a 17-member Governance Council chaired by the Prime Minister.
