About 500,000 people are expected to turn up at the Expo Negaraku 2017 exhibition to be held at Dataran Merdeka from Nov 15 to Dec 15.
Initiated by the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), the expo will showcase the government’s efforts to develop state-of-art infrastructure and carry out development projects for the people.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the exhibition is aimed at letting Malaysians and others know and appreciate the government’s commitment towards providing better livelihood for Malaysians.
“Though we have organised similar expo before, this will be out first large scale exhibition.
“The expo is open to everyone, from all walks of life. We want the public to experience and at the same time enjoy an interactive event with their families and friends.
“There are plenty of highlights and activities being lined up at the event.”
The exhibition will be open from 10am to 10pm and entry is free of charge.
He said Dataran Merdeka was chosen as the venue due to its strategic location and accessibilility to public transport.
Rahman explained that the exhibition would be divided into five domes to represent the principles of Rukun Negara.
He said each dome will narrate the progress of country’s infrastructure.
