The International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) is a knowledge-based platform specifically focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency. The ISES is organised by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA). The biennial event was launched back in 2012 and 2022 will be the fifth (5th) summit. The summit typically spans over two days with two key components: knowledge sharing (conference) and business interactions via exhibition and business matching sessions.

5th ISES 2022

The 5th ISES is back with better and bigger event to further drive the sustainability agenda and address climate change issues within the country and globally. The ISES is a flagship event and acts as a platform for thought leaders in both the public and private sectors to collaborate on critical issues and facilitate the widespread deployment of sustainable energy. There will be big-scale exhibitions, technology showcases, trade programmes, and business matching sessions all rolled into one event. The summit convenes leaders and global thinkers to share ideas in accelerating sustainability and the transition to clean energy.

Theme For 5th ISES 2022

Themes for ISES have always been strategically developed to reflect the core beliefs that are endearing to the Authority. We believe that sustainable energy will provide greater energy autonomy (Currency of Autonomy: Sustainable Energy [2nd ISES 2014]), and that the future of energy is here (Sustainable Energy: The Future is Here [4th ISES 2018]) when electricity is democratised (Democratizing Electricity Supply [3rd ISES 2016]) and nations are empowered with sustainable energy (Empowering Nations via Sustainable Energy [1st ISES 2012]). Towards this end, these core beliefs are subsequently culminated under an overarching theme for our 5th ISES 2022, a theme with a forward-looking vision: Empowering Energy Transition.

EPRE 2017

epre2017Hydro Power continues to play an increasing part in generating electricity without using fossil fuels. Government targets for this type of generation is 4% by the year 2020 with 6 new stations to come on stream by 2022. Of particular significance is the Sarawak Corridor for Renewable Energy (SCORE) which is estimated to be able to generate 20GW as more projects come to fruition. With high voltage cable connection to happen in the next ten years this capacity can be channelled into peninsular Malaysia and be really maximised in the years to come.

EPRE (Electric, Power & Renewable Energy Malaysia) is Malaysia’s flagship show for power generation and transmission and will focus on all the current methods of energy generation placing much emphasis on the increasing importance of renewable energy as the landscape of energy mix changes in line with the Government’s commitment to increasing the percentage contribution from non fossil fuel sources.
