MATTA secretary-general Nigel Wong said the fair would feature various packages aimed at families, especially those with children.
Parents looking for packages with child-friendly activities will be thrilled to find that Legoland Malaysia Resort and Themed Attractions Resorts and Hotels are the official theme park partners for the upcoming MATTA Fair, bringing with them discounted packages to Legoland, Kidzania Kuala Lumpur and other attractions.
Legoland Malaysia Resort sales and marketing director Thila Munusamy said the company had decided to go bigger this time based on the good reception previously.
“Despite last year’s market slowdown, MATTA Fair did really well. We were happy with the success we had at the fair and we decided to come in stronger this time,” said Thila.
She added that it was an exciting time for Legoland as a new attraction, Ninjago The Ride, a 4D ride inspired by the Lego Ninjago line, will be opening in November.
Wong and Thila were speaking at the press conference announcing the partnership, at which MATTA’s tie-up with Smart Online Travel Assistant (SOTA) as the official technology partner for the upcoming MATTA Fair was also announced.
SOTA chief marketing officer Joanna Liao said consumers could check out some of the packages that would be sold at the upcoming fair at the matta.travel website.
“We have 85 tour and travel companies on the website and we aim to bring a hundred more,” said Liao, adding that the packages could also be bought online.
“We, however, encourage people to go to the fair themselves as there will be freebies for buyers and also contests,” she said.
She said that the packages on matta.travel cater to niche activities and unique destinations as well.
