The Selangor International Business Summit 2022 (SIBS) is the 6th edition of the state government-backed conference and exhibition series since its inception in 2016. Under the theme, Selangor the Gateway to ASEAN, the event brings together global brands and congregating industry players from around the world.

Last year, SIBS returned in hybrid, featuring four main existing components with two newly launched components, the 7th Selangor International Expo (SIE Medic) and inaugural Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK). Due to the global pandemic, the return of the physical summit aimed to revive the economic development from various industrial sectors and services sectors that were previously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, SIBS will be back in physical from 6 – 9 October 2022, comprising six main components:

The fifth edition in 2021, which took place from October 18 to 21 last year, has achieved a potential transaction value of RM217.6 million and attracted over 25,410 visitors, surpassing the initial set target of 10,000 visitors. Since its inception, SIBS has been a platform that provides business representatives with the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with key decision-makers and demonstrate that business can play a crucial part in developing solutions to the most pressing issues in ASEAN, building a brighter Tomorrow, Today.

 

ITEX 2020

ITEX INVENTION & DESIGN COMPETITION The International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) presents an exciting opportunity for inventions to be showcased to potential business and investors both locally and internationally. The ITEX competition is open to all participating inventors to gain recognition for their inventions as well as to compete amongst other international inventors for local and international awards and medals. This competition is open to all participants of ITEX in the following categories:

  • Universities/Educational Institutions
  • Research Institutions
  • Corporates
  • Startups
  • Overseas
  • Individuals

All participating inventions vie for the gold, silver or bronze ITEX medals. In addition, they will also be in contention for special awards, international awards and the Best Inventor of the Year Awards. The organisation with the highest number of gold medals will be awarded with the Patron Award by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The highlight of the awards is the most prestigious Asian Invention Excellence Award which will be awarded to the very top invention amongst all the inventions in the exhibition.

ASEAN Electronic Warfare Exhibition 2019

This October, Best Events Productions will be producing The ASEAN ELECTRONIC WARFARE EXHIBITION 2019 (AEWE2019), created at the time of Malaysia’s economic recovery and intends to become a national and international reference in matters related to cyber defence, cyber security, communications and electronic warfare.

This event, the first of its kind to be organized by ASEAN women, is designed to promote the debate of Defence and Security issues between the Armed Forces and Public Security, industry sectors, academia, public and private institutions, society and the Malaysian government.

Besides generating business opportunities in the Electronic Warfare (EW) industry and improving trade relations, university students and start ups are also encouraged to showcase their skills in the Hackathon which emphasizes the impact of EW on drones as one way of creating job opportunities in a growing EW and technology related industry. mte2017Since its beginnings in 2001, the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) has grown to become one of the region’s most recognized international invention and innovation expos. Now in its 16th year, MTE 2017 will be expected to showcase over 500 exhibits of platform inventions and innovations from inventors in Asia and beyond. MTE is the invention marketplace connecting inventors and their ideas to investors, manufacturers and distributors in order to promote commercialization and collaboration.

MTE aims to uphold the high ideals of innovation and scientific progress, as the ideal platform for inventors, innovators and technopreneurs to establish their identity and promote innovative ideas that have the potential to change the world. Once again its concurrent awards programmes, the Invention & Innovation Awards 2017, Malaysia International Design Expo & Awards 2017 (mIDEAS) and the Asian Youth Innovation Awards & Expo 2017 will bring due recognition to the best in inventions, designs and innovations of the year. In fact, the awards at MTE have been a stepping stone for many inventors to achieve success in invention fairs around the world. These awards, which recognize excellence in innovative technologies and design, are organized and endorsed by the Malaysian Association of Research Scientists (MARS).
